Passengers arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport have access to a variety of public transport options, including taxis, buses and the AirTrain.

Taxis

Probably the most popular form of public transport, the taxis operate on a 24 hours a day basis, with the run into Manhattan being one of the most popular. The cabs can be found right outside the exits of each terminal, where also displayed will be the fixed rate fare information. This is the set fare that is applicable for journeys to Manhattan, currently around $45.

Buses

The majority of buses from the airport will head into the different areas of New Jersey, although there is one that goes to Penn Station which is in the heart of downtown New York. The buses are operated by New Jersey Transit, which explains their routing, although buses to New York City can be picked up from New Jersey.

AirTrain Service

The AirTrain does not go far, concentrating instead on linking the different terminals and car parks, thus allowing passengers to go and collect their vehicle or pick up a hire car. The service operates very frequently and runs all day and night, with only a short wait between services.
